Every since the tooth fairy came to visit Little Miss C for the first time she's been somewhat obsessed with fairies and in particular the idea of them appearing whilst she's asleep and leaving her notes to read when she wakes up. Opening Fairy Doors therefore seemed the perfect thing for her to kick off the school summer holidays with and she wasn't disappointed. The idea behind Opening Fairy Doors is that the set (there are three to choose from with different colours and different fairies) provides a miniature door, window, fence and mailbox and you can you can easily attach all these ... read more
Review: Magic Twirl Mim-Mim Plush Toy
Little Miss C has been a huge fan of Kate and Mim-Mim since the series first started on CBeebies back in August 2014. At one point recently it appeared in the schedule as the last thing the kids were allowed to watch before going upstairs to brush their teeth before school and as a result Master C also became a bit of a fan. Both children were therefore delighted when I brought home the new Magic Twirl Mim-Mim Plush to review. This is so much more than just a cuddly toy though as Mim-Mim really is brought to life by saying eight different phrases from the show whenever you either press his ... read more
Review: My Fairy Garden
Little Miss C is absolutely fairy obsessed at the moment. I think it's probably got something to do with the Rainbow Fairy books that she discovered in her school library, and now pesters me to buy her whenever we find some in the local charity shop. As soon as I heard that people were looking for children to review My Fairy Garden I just knew this would be perfect for her, and how right I was! My Fairy Garden has to be be one of the sweetest things I have ever seen for fairy loving girls (or boys - Master C seems quite taken with it too!) and also a brilliant toy which combines small ... read more
Review: Clangers Squeeze and Whistle Tiny
Being woken up in the early hours of the morning to the noise of a swanee whistle coming over the baby monitor is a bit of a strange experience. That's the risk you have though when you get your little one a Clangers Squeeze and Whistle Plush - or at least it is with my son! Master C was super excited to unwrap a Squeeze 'n' Whistle Tiny and she has soon become a firm friend. After three years of just being attached to his favourite cuddly toy dog he's now started taking a huge interest in other toys and treating them like friends. Tiny Clanger was one of the first and certainly the ... read more
Win a Nickelodeon Store Goodie Bag
It's nearly a month now since I got a sneak preview of the new Nickelodeon Store in London's Leicester Square and I'm delighted to see that other people I know have now been along and are loving the place as much as Little Miss C and I did. You may also have seen me reveal what was in the goodie bag that I brought home from there too. And now I'm delighted to tell you that I have a goodie bag to give away to one lucky Being Mrs C reader. In addition to the goodies you can see pictured below there is also a £20 voucher to use in store. This competition is open to all readers ... read more
Review: Lalaloopsy Tinies
Ever since Little Miss C first saw Lalaloopsy Tinies advertised on the television she has been pestering me to buy her some. She's just about to turn five and at that age where it seems girls want tiny little toys to play with and act out stories with. The other thing that really attracted her to these Tinies though was the fact that you can thread them all onto sing or elastic to make your own jewellery. According to her this is the most amazing thing ever! So, when an email arrived asking me if I would like to review a selection of Lalaloopsy Tinies I jumped at the chance. We were ... read more
Review and Competition: GoldieBlox and The Spinning Machine
GoldieBlox has been a firm favourite toy in our household ever since we first got to play with it when it was launched in the UK last summer. Being the first real engineering toy aimed mainly at girls I was always going to take a keen interest in it and I've been very impressed with what I've seen so far. We were delighted therefore to be asked to specifically review GoldieBlox and the Spinning Machine as it's probably my favourite GoldieBlox set. The main concept behind GoldieBlox is that girls learn slightly differently from boys and as such GoldieBox features a unique story approach to ... read more
Review: Schleich Horse Riding Arena
I've blogged before about Schleich toys and how much my kids love them. They're always amazing quality and really encourage children to engage in role play which is excellent for their development. I therefore jumped at the chance of being able to review the Schleich Horse Riding Arena. We've only previously bought individual animals so I was intrigued to see what one of their larger sets is like. Firstly - what is included? As well as the arena itself, you also get a horse and rider, a couple of jumps and a few accessories like straw, carrots, horse blanket and reins. The ... read more
Review: Wicked Uncle – Brilliant Children’s Presents
I was absolutely delighted when an email came through from Wicked Uncle asking if I'd be interested in reviewing some of their products. You see Little Miss C and Master C have three uncles in total - all of whom consider themselves to be wicked - and they've actually received a few gifts bought on the Wicked Uncle site before. I've always been impressed by them and when I spoke to one of the Uncles involved he was really pleased with them too, so I thought I'd give them a whirl myself. I was sent £40 to spend on the site and I have to be honest and say that at first I kind of assumed it ... read more
Review: Bing Floor Puzzle from Ravensburger
Regular readers will know that Master C is the biggest Bing fan out there right now. Every day he asks to watch it on the BBC iPlayer and he is completely obsessed with Bing, Sula, Pando and their friends and carers. As I mentioned when I blogged about knitting him a Flop toy there haven't been any Bing toys available commercially, but that's all about to change with this Bing Floor Puzzle from Ravensburger that we were sent to review. When I unwrapped the puzzle from the packaging in which it had been sent I think I instantly qualified for Mum of the Year, and that was while Master C just ... read more
