Review: Lalaloopsy Tinies

03/06/2015

Lalaloopsy Tinies

Ever since Little Miss C first saw Lalaloopsy Tinies advertised on the television she has been pestering me to buy her some. She’s just about to turn five and at that age where it seems girls want tiny little toys to play with and act out stories with. The other thing that really attracted her to these Tinies though was the fact that you can thread them all onto sing or elastic to make your own jewellery. According to her this is the most amazing thing ever!

So, when an email arrived asking me if I would like to review a selection of Lalaloopsy Tinies I jumped at the chance. We were sent a couple of packets of these – a ten pack from Series 1 and a three pack from Series 2 – so take a look at what was inside.

So inside were…

Series 1:

108 – Toasty Sweet Fluff
129 – Bird
124 – Jewel Sparkles
147 – Teddy Honey Pots
121 – Bear
139 – Pumpkin Candle Light
143 – Cat
153 – Jelly Jiggle Wiggle
140 – Dot Starlight
130 – Peppy Pom Poms *surprise *

Series 2:

258 – Peanut Big Top
202 – Mari Golden Petals
263 – Elephant

Now the toys themselves are, as the name suggests, pretty tiny in size. They are made from hard plastic and all have a hole running from the top to the bottom to allow them to be threaded on to things. The quality of the paintwork can vary a bit from toy to toy, but on the whole is pretty good. Each set comes with a tick sheet for collectors and I can see how children may be very keen to collect them. With a huge range of characters, lots of bright colours and over 100 to collect in total they are prime collecting fodder. They’ve got that Japanese cute thing going on that really appeals to so many young girls – and some adults.

I think it fair to say that Little Miss C was rather pleased with them and she’s certainly been playing with them a fair bit. She’s also been eyeing up the houses that are shown on the back of the packaging and I can see how one of those would increase the overall play value of them. So much so that we’ve actually been out and bought the Tinies Treehouse for her birthday next week. Fingers crossed that she’s still as excited about Lalaloopsy Tinies then as she is now!
