The Importance of Buying the Right Tyres for Your Car Model

11/02/2019

You might not realise it but the type of tyres you choose for your car should always be appropriate for the particular model you drive. It is something that all of us need to take into account but it is especially so for mums and grandparents who will be transporting little ones in their car with them. Properly fitting tyres which are optimised for your exact model of car will help you to maintain better traction, stop more rapidly and avoid spinning out of control if you need to swerve at late notice. In short, correct tyres keep you and your occupants safe when you are out on the road. What are the sort of tyres you should be looking for among some of the Asian carmakers?

Kia Tyres

Whether you drive a Cee’d, a Sorento, a Sportage or a Rio, you ought to fit compatible tyres to your Kia in order to be legal on the road. Across the Kia range, tyres are sized between 13 and 16 inches so you must make sure that those you purchase are similarly sized. Although models like the Kia Picanto were originally only fitted with Michelin and Hankook tyres, other options are available. For Kia tyres, choose online from Point S where you can just enter your model and age of car to see all of the available choices.

Nissan Tyres

Like Kia, Nissan tended to only fit certain tyre makers’ products to their cars when they rolled off the production line. Commonly, they were Michelins, Dunlops, Firestones and Bridgestones. You have more choice than that today, however, especially among the premium brand tyres which are compatible. Simply enter your car’s registration number to find out which Nissan tyres will work with your model. Bear in mind that if you drive a lot in icy conditions that you will also be able to find appropriate winter tyres for your particular Nissan, a handy tip if your car journeys mean heading out in sub-zero temperatures.
