What Makes A Great Birthday Party?

13/02/2019

A great birthday party is something we all define in our own way. Maybe when you were 6 or 7 it was jelly and icecream and all your friends around to share it with. Maybe as a teenager it was a trip to a theme park, with some fast food afterwards. But now, as an adult, you’re a bit lost for party ideas. You’ve got a birthday in the family coming up soon, and you’re out of ideas on how to handle it; maybe you don’t even know what you like out of a party these days, so you have no clue on where to start either!

So let’s try and make this party ordeal a little easier on you, and think about what kind of things make a birthday party really good. Read on if you’re looking for a bit of inspiration.

The Gifts

Of course, the gifts are going to help make a good birthday celebration – if people don’t get you anything, or they get you all the wrong things, you’re not going to be feeling too hot by the time the night’s out. Even when you ask people not to get you anything for your 30th, a lot of us still expect one or two little presents to put a smile on our faces!

So what do you get? Well, food items are always appreciated, so why not get some vol au vents or a some cupcakes together? And little novelty gifts are always cute to have on hand, and they show you were thinking of the other person at least. Plus, there’s a few tips and tricks right here for you to look through if you want.

The Entertainment

The atmosphere of the party needs to be steady and stable, and there needs to be some good music and fun to be had on hand. After all, you don’t want to be sitting around with a simple glass in your hand, and nothing to sing along to or even get up and dance to. And when there’s no games to play either, you’re just going to be left tapping your thumbs waiting for the birthday to be over.

So make sure this doesn’t happen, as it’s going to ruin the idea of birthdays for quite a few years to come. Maybe you could set up a video games system, get a bunch of multiplayer (and easy!) games downloaded onto it, and invite people to have a turn. Or head here and find yourself an entertainer to hire for the night –  a magician or a band to have out in the garden to keep the whole neighbourhood wowed for the night is going to guarantee you’ll remember this occasion for a long time to come.

A great birthday party is what you make it, so be sure you know the person you’re planning for, and that you’ve explored all your options.
