Five New Year’s Eve Date Ideas

18/12/2017

There’s always a lot of pressure it seems to get New Years Eve “right”. Even local pubs go a bit mad nowadays with a ticketed evening, but is it really worth spending all that money on one evening. There are plenty of other ways to make the end of one year and the start of the next special, without following what everyone else does.

Go offline

So much of New Year’s Eve can be spent checking your phone and responding to New Year’s messages from friends and family. Why not go retro and turn your phone off for the evening and concentrate on the person you’re with instead? It may seem like a small gesture, but can make a huge difference to your evening.

Go on a mini-holiday

It needn’t be anywhere fancy, but why not celebrate New Year’s Eve by taking yourselves away for the night. Sometimes a change of scenery can provide a wonderful break, even if it’s just for the night. Book a room somewhere and start the new year in a new place.

An evening of Board Games

When was the last time you got all competitive over a board game? They’re a lovely way of spending an evening and a nod to slightly retro times too. They can be a great way of having a laugh together, and depending on what you decide to play you might also end up finding out a whole load of new stuff about your date.

Cook Together

With restaurant meals at sky high prices for the evening, why not cook together instead? It can be an incredibly romantic and sensual experience. Plan something that you can do slowly together over the evening, whilst sampling a bit of the year’s finest wine whilst you do so.

Reminisce Together

Why not sit down and go through your photos of the last year together?Possibly even put together an album of photo book of the adventures that you’ve had together? It could even be a good opportunity to talk about what you’d like to do together in 2018. And who doesn’t love talking about special, romantic moments in your relationship history.

All is not lost if you don’t have that special person to see in the new year with. There are online dating sites covering most of the country to help you find that special person to help you make 2018 your year. From Fife dating in the north, down to Kent dating and Dorset singles in the south. Over in Northern Ireland there is Belfast dating and Cambridgeshire dating site for those around one of our historic university cities.
