As a mum, you often want to make sure that you’re able to make life as enjoyable for your children as possible. It’s often the reason why we put them above everything else in our lives. Your needs immediately get put to the side as you try to focus on the needs of your kids instead. It’s only natural. So when you work, you often have to think of ways you can fit it in with looking after your kids. This often means that you have to work part-time, and that can make earning more harder to do. But it’s not your only option. Because you should also consider working from home too. If it’s something that you’ve always wanted to do, here are five different jobs that you could think about doing.

Consulting

Up first, there’s always consulting. And this an be a great home working job choice for lots of different people. Because whatever field you are trained or skilled in, or whatever kind of job that you’re currently doing now, can often be done from home in a consulting form. From sales to marketing, you could use your current skill set and experience to advise others and consult on their businesses.

Child-Minding

Then, you could also think about becoming a childminder. If you have little ones that aren’t yet at school, so you have to stay home, then looking after other small children could be great for you. Even if your kids are school age, it could work for you too. At the same time, you could also look after school-age children before and after school too. This would allow you to work from home, and the job can often fit into your lifestyle quite well.

Accounting

Another great career idea for you would be to go into accounting. You can get some great accredited distance learning accounting courses to study online. That means you don’t already have to be a qualified accountant, you can become one especially for the purpose of working from home. If you’re great with numbers and you’ve always wanted a home-based business that you can be quite flexible with, this could work well for you.

Writing

Maybe you’re not so good with numbers? Well then writing could be a better fit for you? Becoming a freelance writer or blogger can be a great way to make extra income on the side at first, and then turn into a really profitable full-time business idea too. If you’re not sure where to start, there are a wealth of resources online, along with courses you could take to get you up to speed.

Hairdressing

Finally, you could also think about starting a hair salon business from home too. Or even a beauty one! If you’re a skilled hairdresser already, or you would love to train as one, this can be a great way for you to work around your family life, enjoy flexible working in your own home, and have a job that you love too.
