Review: Ravensburger Thomas Giant Floor Puzzle

10/10/2016

Master C is absolutely train mad at the moment. One of his favourite things to do when out is pretend to be a train and make everyone with him be his “carriages” and run behind him from station to station. Every night I tuck him upon bed under his Thomas the Tank Engine duvet and most nights we’re reading Thomas books as bedtime stories. It’s therefore no surprise at all that he was delighted to sent this Thomas Giant Floor Puzzle to review by Ravensburger.

Thomas Giant Floor Puzzle

With 24 pieces this puzzle is just about the right size of puzzle for Master C to tackle on his own now. He’s had some jigsaws before that he loves – to the extent that he keeps making them time and time again throughout a day – but to be honest he often ends up telling me to complete them whilst he looks on like a site foreman. This time though I realised that I needed to make him take the lead and actually be in charge of putting the pieces together.

One of the things that I particularly like about this puzzle is that it actually features several different characters from Thomas and Friends meaning that Master C got quite excited about finding the pieces with Emily, Hero and the others on them. That also made it somewhat easier for him to work out which pieces go where. With the puzzle being a giant floor puzzle it also means that the pieces are particularly big so he can easily hold them and fix them together – great for practicing his motor skills too.

The Thomas Giant Floor Puzzle was a huge hit in this house and continues to be so. I’m also hoping that it will help get Master C into jigsaws a bit more – even if that is selfishly because I’m just sick of tripping over wooden train track every time I walk into my living room! The perils of living with a train mad son.

Someone’s very proud of finishing his new jigsaw in his own #Thomas #thomasthetankengine #jigsaw #ravensburger #review #epig
