Keep your Stuff at a Climate Controlled Unit- the Storage you can Trust

12/03/2021

The luxury items you have are the investments you have made for your comfort. Now that you’ve spent a great amount of money on them, they need top-notch care. While relocating to a new place, you might think of storing some of your belongings during the relocation process. You might want to stash all your precious possessions in a friends’ garage while you’re paving a path to relocation. But, do you think that your basement and attic will suffice your multifaceted needs? Maybe, not!

The moving and storage experts suggest investing in a climate-controlled self-storage space. Keeping your items for a long-term in the U.S self-storage unit can be a pretty affordable investment, which is sure to keep the items you adore safer from damage. It becomes necessary to opt-in for a climate-controlled storage unit for sensitive items like electronics, antiques, fine art, and musical instruments.

Now that you’re thinking of investing in a self-storage unit, you’d want to turn a critical eye to the advantages of climate-controlled space for storage made simple:

  • Ideal Air Quality:

The climate-controlled mini-units enable air circulation, which keeps the air clean in the space. You would no longer have to worry about opening your unit to air out and prevent stale odors. Know that clean air prevents damage to sensitive items like electronics and documents.

  • Extreme Temperature Protection:

Temperatures can drop below freezing during the winter months and climb above 100 degrees during the summer heat. The benefits of climate controlled storage units come to light when you reside in a place that experiences drastic climatic changes. Thus, sensitive items like musical instruments, antiques, and wood furniture suffer from splitting, warping, or cracking due to constant temperature changes.

Things like business records, books, and fine art find damage because of consistent temperature changes. Thus, choose a climate-controlled unit to maintain an optimal temperature below 80-90 degrees and above freezing.

  • You get an additional barrier from dust:

A climate-controlled unit generally finds a place inside the buildings with insulated and sealed roofs, floors, and walls. The units thus become less susceptible to dirt tracking and minor flooding. And, since the units find a place indoors, there isn’t much chance for mice, bugs, and rodents to make a way into your stored things. The best thing about a self-storage space is that you’ll find these items just the way you left them, whether you store them for a week, month, year, or a decade.

  • Humidity Control:

One of the most destructive elements is water. All it takes is a little humidity for molding and mildewing on papers and upholstery. Sweating caused by humid air is most likely to cause damage to musical instruments, furniture, artwork, and other precious items. When you place your items in a climate-controlled self-storage unit, the scope for damage becomes negligible.

Load up and Stow

Dwell in mind that no one size fits all. Some people prefer a large standard unit, while the other renters may find the same unit as a terrible fit. Thus, the best thing you can do is embark upon an apt research process and consider your needs- the features, price, and size. It is worth paying extra for humidity and temperature controls when you know it’ll protect your belongings.
