Instilling Empathy in Children: Importance of Spiritual Education

15/03/2021

At a young age, a child’s psychology is very impressionable. More than what they are told to do, this is the time when children learn by seeing what others are doing around them. With so much violence and attributes of narcissism, many negative qualities are on the rise in young adults. Thus, it has become imperative to instill children with good humanistic qualities from an early age itself.

Why is Empathy important in young children?

Learning to be empathetic towards someone helps a person to put himself or herself in another shoe to understand their feelings in a better way. The early formative years are very crucial and they are naturally untouched by the world’s hard and harsh ways. Thus educating them early helps them to grasp the humane perspective in an easier way. Also, it is a great way of teaching to care for others rather than themselves. It is an intrinsic part of their development which helps them to become better human beings in their adult lives.

How Having A Spiritual Education Can Help?

Having a spiritual side means connecting with your inner self to find peace. Giving them this greatest gift will help them to live their lives with much love and positivity. According to https://www.soh.church/, it is important to encourage everyone to have an understanding of what they already know. They should believe in what they have faith in. This will help them to have more value and direction in their years ahead.

Better Relationships With Others

Most of the emotional turmoil people have within themselves is because of childhood trauma or trust issues from a very young age. Learning to develop a strong sense of empathy in children is beneficial as it guides them to build asense of security from the start. This is what enables them to have stronger and more meaningful relationships with others. It also helps them to build a sense of tolerance and acceptance of others.  Being a promoter of good mental health, it is highly required in the times we all live in. It promotes social harmony among others, and thus it reduces the feelings of bullying desires towards the weak.

A Level Headed Adulthood

An empathetic mindset reaps rewards well in adult lives too. It helps to deal with the intricacies and complexities of a more mature life in a more levelled way. Sometimes professional and personal lives can go haywire. Hence, having a calm and clear mind helps to put the thoughts into the right perspectives. It aids a person to be more successful, and spiritual education brings a higher level of happiness. On the professional ladder, this becomes a characteristic to have in leadership positions. As the stress levels decrease, this kind of character also results in having fewer conflicts with others in personal as well as in work lives.

The Last Word

Giving spiritual education to children is very important as it prepares them for the challenges in their lives ahead. The empathetic inclination from such an age gives strength from within to keep learning about life experiences in the years to come.
