It feels a bit weird to think that when I first discovered Sue Hendra Little Miss C was tiny and only just starting to discover picture books, yet now here I am enjoying her books with Master C as he comes to the end of his first half term at “proper school”. Where has time gone?
Sue Hendra still delights me as much as it does him though, and I still love sharing picture books like hers with the kids. Supertato has become a bit of a star in our household and when I opened up the package containing Evil Pea Rules! there was a shriek of delight from both kids.
In this latest book Evil Pea is back to try to cause yet more havoc in the supermarket for Supertato. He thinks that he can put an end to Supertato and his good ways by turning the supermarket into an icy kingdom, but he doesn’t count on the vegetables liking their new snow and ice filled home. Nor does he count on the heat of the hot chillies and their plan to rescue their vegetable hero.
Once he’s been defrosted, Supertato sets off to spread some festive cheer in the icy supermarket. There’s no doubt that evil pea should be on Father Christmas’ naughty list, but he wasn’t expecting the role in the seasonal festivities that Supertato gives him!
It’s lovely to see Supertato back in a Christmas themed story and Evil Pea Rules! would make a perfect Christmas present for any little Supertato fan.
