Before becoming a parent I have to admit that I’d not really thought about education for my kids much. That kind of happened at school and I didn’t need to think about it much. Now that I am a parent though I realise that education is much more of a life long thing and what you do at home works so much along side what your children do and learn at school. The two really need to work in harmony and that’s where a site like Education Quizzes works so well.
Designed for all children, the primary aim of Education Quizzes is to help children be successful at school. The quizzes are all written by teachers and covers all education stages from Key Stage 1 up to GCSE. Parents can subscribe for just £7.50 per month and subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.
Now I have to admit that I’m not the best of parents when it comes to letting my kids lose on my laptop, even when it’s for educational purposes, but last night I handed my laptop over to Little Miss C to let her try out Education Quizzes. As she’s in Year 1 at the moment I headed straight to the KS1 section and selected a few quizzes for her to try. Obviously she wasn’t able to do everything on offer as some things aren’t covered until Year 2, but there was still plenty to choose from. Divided into subjects we headed to the Maths and English sections and LMC tested out her knowledge of capital letters, shapes and days of the week. Each quiz had ten questions and she really enjoyed showing me how much she had learnt at school.
As a parent I sometimes struggle to know exactly what LMC is learning at school – after all, it’s all changed significantly from when I was at school! Looking through Education Quizzes it gave me a great overview of what else is covered in each subject at KS1 level. As well as being able to sit her down with the quizzes it also gave me some great prompts for what else she had been learning about.
Education Quizzes have also realised that some schools may want to make the quizzes available to all their pupils, so they’ve now launched a new school’s section where a school can pay for all their pupils and benefit from discounts in doing so. Depending on the size of the school it can work out to be as little as £2 per student.
If you’re looking to help grow your child’s brain at home then look no further than Education Quizzes.
