Once again it’s been all about the crochet here, but a bit of other crafting has managed to sneak in too.
For the first time in ages I’ve actually sat down and made something with Little Miss C and we actually had great fun doing so. Our paper plate Care Bear was a huge success, especially when she took him to school for show and tell.
After never showing any interest in anything crafty Master C has also surprised me this week buy asking to join in when LMC was painting paper plates for her Care Bear and then when it was just me and him at home again asking to do some painting. As he’s never shown any enthusiasm for it before other than eating paint we’ve never actually crafted together before, so I’m now busy trying to come up with ideas of things we can do together. I’m spending lots of time on Pinterest pinning kids craft activities so hopefully I’ll come up with some good plans for next week.

As for the blanket, well it’s growing steadily, despite me managing to take it along to my knitting group on Wednesday but leaving the crochet hook at home. It’s rather hard to crochet without a hook. I’m off to Manchester tomorrow for Blog On MOSI and I’m currently debating about whether or not I should take it with me. I’m doing the whole trip in a day so lots of crochet time on the train, but it’s getting rather large to carry around with me now. I’d love to spend all that time crocheting, but I’m thinking that finding a smaller project, possibly a bit of cross-stitch might be the sensible option.
Finally, I’ve just spotted this cute little hedgehog paperweight in this month’s WI Life magazine and I think he’s going to be my next knitting project. I’ve not made anything like this before and I’m pretty sure I must have some suitable yarn in my stash, even if I end up going for some more abstract colours than what they’ve used!
What have you been crafting this week?
