I've written before on here about the disaster zone that is our spare bedroom at the moment. One of the biggest problems in there is the huge amount of clothing that we've all grown out of in the last couple of years. Not only do the kids grow up, but after two children in less than three years I've also changed size (and shape!) several times. With no more children planned it's time to tackle the clothes mountain once and for all.
There are several options as to what to do with all these things we no longer wear. Many of the children's clothes will be passed on to friends with kids younger than ours – it always feels nice to pass these things on and see someone else we know get good use out of them. The local charity shops will also probably do quite well out of us, but there is a third way. It is now possible to earn money for old clothes by sending them to those crafty people at musicMagpie. Yep, the same ones that many of us have been selling our old CD collections to.
The beauty of the musicMagpie scheme is that it's so much easier than the other route of selling things online. No taking photos, listing things online, waiting for auctions to finish and then faffing about waiting for payment before having to queue at the post office to send things off. All you need to do is use the drop down menus to tell them the details of the clothes you have and then they will tell you how much they will pay you for them. It's even free to send your items to musicMagpie. It honestly couldn't be more simple.
I think I'm fast running out of excuses for sorting the spare room out!

I am always looking at new ways to offload unwanted items – I really have gone off Ebay so will have a look into MusicMagpie 🙂

Have to admit it was a new one to me too – but definitely worth investigating further as far fewer hurdles than what eBay require these days.
