A busy afternoon in the kitchen

10/12/2009

In fact such a busy afternoon that I didn't get round to picking the camera up at any point to share it with you – sorry!

A batch of ginger cup cakes are made and cooling on the rack before they get iced with some lovely fudge flavoured icing that I've got the recipe for. I've also completed a batch of mince pies for some friends that are coming round on Saturday. First time I've done these in the new oven though and they ended up in there for nearly twice as long as I used to do them in the old oven. I may therefore have to get Mr C to try one later on to ensure that they'll be OK for our guests.

In preparation for tomorrow night's dinner I've also made up some tandoori paste, making use of a total of eight jars from my spice collection! Some chicken breasts are now marinading in the paste in preparation for the butter chicken I'm planning for tomorrow. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

What have you done in the kitchen today?

Today is officially the launch of Christmas in the Nesbitt home! Tree, cards & mince pies, also a quiche to bake as I need to use up some of the wonderful eggs the girls are banging out at a rate of 6 a day!
