After such a fantastic day at Heligan to celebrate our wedding anniversary I really wanted to have a physical souvenir from our day to sit along side all my wonderful memories. Between us we too plenty of photographs on the day, but an amble around the gift shop found a little something extra.
Like many visitor attractions that attract female visitors of a certain age demographic, Heligan has a small selection of cross-stitch kits available. These ones all seemed to be produced by Sybilla Davis Designs, a local company specialising in Cornish designs. I wasn't so keen on some of the bigger kits as the parts of Heligan that they concentrated on were not my favourite ones. Instead I decided to choose the Mini Gardening Sampler as it reminded me not only of Heligan, but all the samplers that I had seen whilst going round The Old Post Office at Tintagel.
I haven't managed to progress too far yet, but I am hoping that a space can be found for this in our new house to provide a lovely little reminder of our first wedding anniversary.

Hi – Sybilla here – just came across your blog and delighted that you are enjoying stitching my Mini Gardening Sampler! Did you see my kits at Tintagel Old Post Office as well as at Heligan? I have a larger Sampler on sale there with an alphabet in the middle and traditional motifs and border around the edge.
Happy stitching!
Regards
Sybilla
