I feel like I come here quite often at the beginning of a weekend to apologies for a lack of posts within the week. This may be a bit of a deja vu for some readers, but this time I have a damn good excuse (well at least I think so).
On Thursday Mr C and I finally had an offer accepted on a house that we want to buy! This is the fourth house that we've tried to buy in the last year and to say that I am excited is an understatement!
I know that there is still so, so much that may go wrong with this planned purchase but please indulge me on this for a little while and then I'll try and keep quite until things firm up (assuming that they do). Finally all the things that I've been dreaming of for the last couple of years may become reality. A garden: space to grown vegetables, somewhere to be able to hang out washing to dry in the fresh air. There's also a wood burning stove and plenty of space to be able to have a permanent sewing and knitting studio space. I may have to fight for the latter with Mr C, who is keen to have space for his growing musical instrument collection. But whilst there's just the two of us I'm convinced that there's room for both.
Due to the vendor's job circumstances (explained to us in detail and perfectly acceptable) we are aiming for a July completion date – but that just gives me longer to plan how to turn this into my perfect family home. So exciting!
Life still has slight mishaps though to keep us grounded. After a heavy night helping some neighbours demolish their red wine collection I woke up at reasonably normal time, put a load of washing in and then returned to bed for some more sleep. The slight problem came when I got up properly later in the morning, pulled the wet washing out of the machine and saw something lighting up the inside of the drum. Further investigation revealed that the source of the light was the keypad on Mr C's mobile phone. Woops!
Said phone is now drying out on his desk. Fingers crossed that he won't be having to go shopping for a new one this afternoon…

July isn’t long to wait – even if it feels like an age at the moment. Have fun making plans for your new home.
