Tea cosy mania

27/10/2008

I think there must be a bit of a tea cosy thing going on at the moment – I'm quite amazed by the number of people who seem to be coming to this blog having googled "tea cosy" or some similar phrase. I also seem to keep coming across mentions of tea cosies in pretty much every thing I read, especially on other people's blogs.

I then came home from work today and found another of those Amazon e-mails suggesting something new to read – only today's was for Wild Tea Cosies by Loani Prior.

Now I have to say that this book (released on 1 November 2008 here in the UK) looks fantastic! I'm already familiar with Tea Cozies, which has been in the shops for a while now, but have to admit to having not heard of this book before. A quick google of Loani Prior though and I've discovered her blog, Grand Purl Baa, which contains some fantastic sneak previews of some of the cosies in her book.

Time to go and count the pennies in my piggy bank and work out if I can justify some more knitting book shopping…

Oh, I’ve seen that book! A friend had it, or maybe it was the other one, out of the library. Isn’t it just fabulous!

    Hello!
Mrs M sent me to say hello! It’s so nice to meet you! I love tea cosies too, they are both comforting and quirky. I also love the way you have the two margins on either side of the screen showing the covers of the books you have read. I shall return to visit you in the future if that’s all right. Regards, Eleanor.

Loving that whole pineapple tea cosy thing. Another reason to add to my list of ‘why I wish I drank tea.’ It seems to grow exponentially.
(That lady wot tried to run of with your blog name sent me.)

ooh love the tea cosy, they add such a sense of occasion to a cup of tea. Mrs M (not Mrs C as she thought she was) sent me, and I’m glad I came to visit, love your book lists.

Welcome to all of you that have come from Mrs M (or Mrs C as she thinks she is!)
Totally understand what you mean driftwood about a tea cosy bringing a sense of occasion to a cuppa. Same reason as to why my sister collects fancy cake plates!
