The thing with knitting is that it doesn't always turn out as planned.
I made great progress with my tea cosy yesterday afternoon. Got to the difficult part of having to purl two together into the back of the stitch and decided to leave it until today when there wouldn't be quite so much read wine in my system to confuse my brain.
Sunday started early so that we could watch Lewis Hamilton's efforts to get the championship from Massa. A bit of help from the internet meant that I felt positive about the next stage so I continued. I managed the difficult bit, and then noticed a dropped stitch about four rows earlier. I patiently undid my work back to the bit in question, fixed the problem and started to put the stitches back onto my needle. I then found another problem, swiftly followed by a few more.
It got to the stage where the easiest thing to do was to start again. Damn.
Still – practice makes perfect. I'm now working on version two. An hour on the sofa with Kate Rusby and I'm just about back to where I was when yesterday's photo was taken.
Being creative can be quite frustrating at times!

What a shame. The tea cosy seemed to be coming on really well. At least you didn’t get to the stage I usually get to when knitting which involves finding a suitable bin!
