I’ve just returned from what was quite simply the best weekend away I’ve ever had. It was my birthday last Friday so Mr C organised a weekend away for us and we went to Jersey. Now I’ve always wanted to travel to the Channel Islands as I’ve head so much about the scenery and have always wanted to learn more about what life on the Islands was like during the war-time German Occupation.
I’ll provide more details of our trip later (once I’ve finished unpacking and the mountain of washing that’s come back with us) but it summarise Jersey is quite simply spectacular and the people there are some of the most friendly I’ve met!
We stayed in St Aubin and spent most of our time in the soth-west corner of the Island, venturing only as far as St Helier in the East, Corbiere in the West, and the Jersey War Tunnels to the north.
I’ll return with more photos and tales of what we got up to, but here are two of my favourite photos from the trip. The first shows a house that I quite simply fell in love with in St Aubin – the blue paintwork was particularly lovely and gave the house a warm and welcoming appearance. The second shows Corbiere Lighthouse that Mr C and I were fortunate enough to visit today, including a trip into the lighthouse itself and a climb up to the light itself.

Gorgeous photographs with different hues of blue. I had two holidays on Jersey when I was a little girl and actually remember very little apart from constant sunshine and the zoo! Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures.
