My kids really love nothing more than coming on one of Mummy’s work trip – mainly because they usually seem to involve food and getting to play with toys! I often wonder how they describe what I do to their friends and what sort of a warped version of events their teachers get. Thing is that the recent Num Noms Party at Bella Italia involved lots of food, activities and the biggest pile of Num Noms you have ever seen.
Now I’ll be honest and say that Num Noms had completely passed me by until now, but Little Miss C is no where near as ignorant as I am and instantly started jumping up and down with excitement when I told her where we going. It seems the adverts on the TV have had quite an effect on her. Launched in 2016 there was a bit of a frenzy over these cute delicious, stackable and rather wacky collectables. We were invited along to Bella Italia in Islington to meet the Num Noms and see the new characters in the collection with lots of savoury flavours inspired by brunch dishes, pizza flavours, such snacks and some yummy dinner foods.
Num Noms come in two parts. You have the Nums which are the outer soft squishy bits that fit over the Noms which can be wither scented stamps, little motorised things that scuttle about, lip glosses or erasers. All the Nums and Noms fit together so you can create over 5,000 mix and match combinations – some sounding delicious, others not quite so!
At the Bella Italia Num Noms Party LMC and Master C had the opportunity to design their own Num Noms, try and break a Num Noms stacking record, guess the Num Noms’ flavour, make their own pizza and build their own ice cream sundae. LMC also had some the most detailed face painting I think I’ve ever seen.
It goes without saying that they had an absolute ball and now huge Num Noms fans.
Probably a good thing then that the postman has just delivered a package for them to help me review – watch out for that coming soon.
