31/03/2026

If you are a busy mom then you may not get much time to yourself, between looking after the home and also the children. However, you need to ensure you get some time to yourself as this is what will help you stay on top of your mental health. If you are a mom all the time then you forget about your true self. If you aren’t too sure how to go about finding a hobby that you enjoy then check out the article below to find some inspiration.

Reading

One thing you don’t need much time for is reading. You can do this whenever you have a free five minutes in the day, you could also do it when the kids are in bed in the evenings. If you have a favorite genre then head to your local bookstore and stock up on books so they can keep you occupied. Alternatively if you are on a budget then you can loan books from your local library. Typically, you can take out up to fifteen books at a time in some libraries. This should keep you going for quite a while, just remember to renew them or return them otherwise you could be fined.

Upcycle

If you have an eye for design then how about trying your hand at a bit of upcycling. You can get hold of older pieces of furniture and then transform it into something amazing. You may have items at home that need changing or you could pick them up at thrift stores. So many people who make money from upcycling, so why not do the same? If you turn your hobby and enjoyment into something to make money from, then you are winning. Just be sure to declare this income, you don’t want to get in trouble further down the line.

Travel

Maybe you love seeing different parts of the world and have vowed to take your children to some wonderful places. If this is the case then you may be starting to slowly work your way through your bucket list. What is first on the list, maybe the Maldives or Singapore. Wherever you go, make sure you book everything in advance as you don’t want to leave it to the last minute and be disappointed. It might be that your children have always wanted to go to Disney, there are so many around the world to visit. Work your way through these, it will take you around six vacations to see them all.

Exercise

This one might come as a bit of a shock, and you may not view this as a hobby. However, there are hundreds of people out there who love taking part in exercise as a hobby. In fact, whenever they have a spare thirty minutes, they can probably be found in a gym. If you want to try this out, and enjoy those happy hormones circling around your body then try working out. You might wish to workout in the comfort of your own home, if exercising in front of people just isn’t for you. Alternatively, if you only have an hour of free time then you could join an exercise class in your local area. Some even let you bring the kids with you, or they have a type of creche where you can leave them with qualified individuals.

Gaming

Do you love gaming? If so, then you have found a hobby for you. The gaming world is so vast, you might just not have found your niche yet. So you have card games, online games, and using a games console to play by yourself or with your friends. If you like to play online then you could also make money by playing online. Just be aware, you need to know the site you use is reputable and safe. The last thing you want to do is throw all of your money away while you are also trying to win some back. A great site like https://pusulabetgiris.com is a great place to start.

Sewing

Sitting down with a needle, thread, and a pattern can bring you great peace and joy. If this is something you want to do then you could create some amazing clothing items or even toys for your children. If your family and friends love these then you could even monetize this and make some extra cash for your back pocket. Sewing does seem to be a very old school hobby or interest, but it is such a useful skill. If there is a hole in certain items of clothing then you can sew these up rather than spending money on a brand new pair. You can pick up sewing patterns in a variety of places, libraries, thrift stores, and even online marketplaces.

Hiking

If you have some spare time to yourself then why not join a hiking group? Alternatively, you could go yourself. However, there are some dangers and risks associated with going out on your own. If something happens and nobody is with you then it may be several hours before people are alerted. There are plenty of hiking groups to join, meeting likeminded people could provide you with friends for life. Check your local area and see what is going on, you never know, there may be a group that explores some amazing routes nearby.

Baking

Last but not least, how about you head into the kitchen and bake some gorgeous cakes and biscuits. You might love spending time in the kitchen, either by yourself or with the children. Don’t be afraid to get messy and make lots of memories. If you love making new creations then don’t be afraid to attend fairs and events selling your cakes and bakes.
