If you are planning on selling your home, it can be difficult to make it look beautiful when it is miserable outside. However, don’t let this put you off. You can still make your home look incredible, both inside and out. Read on to discover some not-to-be-missed winter home staging tips that really work.

  1. Warm it up – There is only one place to begin, and this is by making your home warm and cosy. There is nothing worse for a potential buyer than walking into a property and it feeling cold and uncomfortable. They won’t be able to envision living there. So, how do you make your home warm and appealing? If you have a fireplace, there’s nothing better than a crackling fire throughout the winter months. If you don’t have a fireplace, there are plenty of other options. Play around with textures to create a soft and plush feel. Throws and excessive cushions work really well. You should also enhance the ambience with scented candles that are placed around the home tastefully. Rich scents like vanilla and cinnamon are ideal, as they fill the air without being overpowering.
  2. Change your garage door – You may not be able to have a garden that is bursting with vibrant colours during the winter months. However, this does not mean that the exterior of your home can’t be striking and inviting. One change that you can make is buying a new garage door. From insulated roller garage doors to sectional doors, there are many different styles of garage doors that are available. If you can afford to spend some money on a designer garage door, it may be worth it if your garage is at the forefront of your property and, therefore, the first thing that potential buyers will see.
  3. Create a mood – When it comes to home staging, it is often beneficial to create a mood. By doing this, you get the buyer to feel a certain way, and they will imagine that this is what they are going to get every day of their lives if they buy the home. For example, you could create a relaxing mood, or a romantic one. We often see this when people give their bathroom a spa feel. You can do this by grouping shampoo, lotions, and soaps, rolling up washcloths and tying them with a ribbon and placing them inside a basket, and hanging plush robes. After all, there is nothing better than stepping outside of the shower and putting on a big, comfortable robe during the colder months is there? Other options for around the home include dressing your dining room table for a dinner for two or placing vases filled with winter flowers around your property.

So there you have it: the three ways to home stage your property during the winter months. We hope that these tips help you to sell your home quickly and at the right price in the New Year.
