Nutrition For Every Age – 7 Foods You Should Invest In 2022

26/11/2021

Women have to deal with a lot all their life. Career, family, friends, expectations from society, peer pressure, everyday stress related to work, their health, and so much more. The year 2020 and even this year has been exceptionally trying for them but they have come out winners. Making them stronger is everyone’s responsibility. Supporting the women in your life is what you should make your priority so that they can continue to inspire the world. This blog helps you do just that and a lot more for them. Let’s find out how every woman can make a big difference in her life by making a few intelligent decisions in their everyday nutrition and lifestyle.

1.   Complex Carbohydrates Are Your Friends

Have you ever wondered how one bowl of oats and a few pieces of fruit can keep you full and satiated for so many hours? These food items are dense in complex carbohydrates that keep hunger pangs away from you for a long time. They are a great source of sustainable energy and if you are thinking about including them in your diet, you are on the right track. A few items to include are:

·         Sweet potatoes

·         Brown rice

·         Oats

·         Quinoa

2.   Lean Protein Is A Good Choice

Chicken, tofu, eggs, bean sprouts, whey protein, low-fat cottage cheese, lentils, and pulses, chickpeas, and the list goes on. Try to avoid all the red meat that you find in the market as much as possible. Lean meat is the way to go if you want to stay fit for years to come. It is especially advised during your 20s and 30s to include some form of lean protein in your everyday diet. These don’t just help you build lean muscle but also keep you satiated for a long time. Do not go for those readymade gravies and ready-to-cook meals that are high in salt (sodium). Try as much as possible to cook all your meat dishes at home.

3.   Researching About Superfoods

Including superfoods in your diet is only possible when you are aware of what they are. Whether it is your 20s, your 30s, or your 40s, you need to invest a significant amount of time and effort to find out what superfoods are suitable for you. A few items that you can always include in your everyday diet are given below:

·         Extra virgin olive oil

·         Wild salmon

·         Dandelion greens

·         Turmeric

·         Blueberries

·         Strawberries

·         Raspberries

·         Coconut oil

·         Spinach

·         Walnuts

·         Almonds

·         Organic whole eggs

·         Dark chocolate

·         Organic oats

·         Unsalted organic peanut butter

4.   Go Nuts Over Nuts

This is one of the most delicious ways to stay healthy. Nuts and seeds are ideal for you regardless of your age. These are tiny in size but are very big in nutrition. You get all the necessary antioxidants, good fats, healthy proteins, and phytonutrients from these nuts and seeds. You also get enough vitamins, A vitamin, E zinc, iron, potassium, magnesium, and everything that keeps you healthy for a long time.

5.   Say Yes To Calcium-Rich Foods

This is a rather controversial subject because a lot of women argue that they don’t need that much calcium after a certain age. This is not true because women have a much higher chance of developing osteoporosis after reaching their thirties and especially after delivering babies. Calcium-rich foods are easily available in the market that are not only helpful in strengthening their bones but also keeping them active even at the age of 60 and beyond. You can combine them with several other foods and some of the best supplements for womenand you will notice how much of a difference they can make in your life. Some foods that you should always incorporate into your diet are oranges, broccoli, skim milk, leafy vegetables, and sesame seeds.

6.   Interested In Bone Broth?

When you are in your late 20s or early thirties, the best recipe that you can cook up quickly at home for great health is bone broth. This is a great way to ensure that your gut remains healthy and that your immune system is as solid as a rock. A typical recipe for bone broth is going to include all the necessary nutrients that you need to maintain great joint health and also to reduce the appearance of that ugly cellulite that you have been trying to get rid of for so many years. This is one of those superfoods that you will thank your stars for all your life.

7.   Saying Goodbye To Added Sugar

This is something that you would want to argue about because you probably have a sweet tooth. But then once you understand the risks of excessive or added sugar in your diet, you would want to let go of all your reasoning that stands in favor of your old habits. Removing added or extra sugar from your diet can help you in the following ways and more:

·         Boosts your heart health and reduces the level of triglycerides in your blood

·         It also reduces inflammation in your body and the presence of free radicals in your system

·         Less sugar means you will not have frequent episodes of mood swings and anxiety

·         You will tend to feel full for longer with less food throughout the day

·         If you are looking for ways to improve your sleep patterns, you have already accomplished that by reducing your sugar intake

According to DHA though, it is not at all recommended to cut out sugar completely from your diet. You need a minimum level to maintain adequate sugar levels throughout your body and also to keep the levels of insulin in check.

Final Thoughts

Your health is something you should never take lightly. Women especially, at different stages of their lives, need different foods, nutrition plans, exercise regimes, and supplementation. But the one thing that should remain unchanged is their resolve to keep fit and active regardless of their age. In the end, it is always a good approach to avoid alcohol as much as possible. Limit your caffeine and nicotine intake as you age. Your body is your temple and it is high time you started appreciating it.
