7 Rules Of Healthy Life: Turn Your “Wellness” Switch On

07/07/2021

“He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything.” – Thomas Carlyle.

Every person desires to be healthy, fit, and live a wholesome life. While some people work every day to turn this desire into reality, some people get stuck in their routine work. In between finding a balance between work and life, they tend to put the health goals on hold.

But not anymore!

Focusing on your wellness is not only about keeping the body in good shape; it also means pushing your boundaries and exploring. It might look very challenging in the beginning. But, once you start practicing healthy living, you’ll realize how easy it actually is.

Having said that, let’s learn the rules of healthy life that you must follow! Scroll down!

Rule No. 1: Sleep Like A Baby

Staying up all night long, parting with friends, or binge-watching series, might look like a great idea, but it severely affects your sleep schedule. That’s why you need to ensure that you get 8 hours of sleep every night. It will help improve your mood, reduce the risk of high blood pressure, and boost productivity.

To ensure that you get your beauty sleep, you can try out any of the following practices:

  • Sleep in complete darkness.
  • Don’t drink caffeine late in the evening.
  • Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
  • Try not to sleep in the daytime.
  • Listen to calming music.

Rule No. 2: Say Goodbye To Excess Stress

Taking stress is somewhat good for your mind as it boosts memory and encourages you to complete the work at hand. However, it is good only till you know how to manage it. Otherwise, it can lead to overthinking, overwhelming emotions, anxiety, and much more. Thus, it’ll affect your well-being.

So you need to learn how to manage this excess stress and live a more happy life. To reduce stress, you can try out deep breathing exercises, focus on positive things, take a walk and try out yoga. Small but effective healthcare practices will also keep that medical monkey off your back, getting checkups, dental care and even microsuction (removing ear wax) contribute to better overall health. If you stay consistent, these practices will surely help you in keeping the stress in check.

Rule No. 3: Focus On Nourishing Your Body

Another crucial rule that you need to follow is to focus on the nourishment of your body. If you are a lover of instant foods, you should try to reduce their consumption. Instead, you should eat homemade food filled with the goodness of veggies and fruits. Moreover, you should also reduce (if can’t entirely eliminate) the consumption of toxic things such as alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs.

Besides that, you should start drinking more water to keep your body hydrated. Also, don’t forget about organic supplements, as they can help you achieve your health goals. These things will ensure that your body gets all the vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbs. Thus, it’ll improve the condition of your body, preparing it to fight against diseases.

Rule No. 4: Lift Things And Move Around

Did you know that the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends taking 10,000 steps every day to stay fit? It helps in improving range of motion, blood flow, muscle strength, joint stiffness, mood, sleep, and helps prevent obesity.

Yes! You read it right. You can achieve all these benefits merely by walking. Therefore, you should start moving around a bit to stay fit. In fact, to make this more effective, you can also lift some things that might be present around you as weights. It’ll help lower the blood sugar level, improve hormone function.

Additionally, if you are one of those who don’t like to exercise, it is the easiest way out for you to stay fit. So, you must start walking around from now on.

Rule No. 5: Take Breaks Every Once In A While

Life is all about ups and downs. It is essential that you make plans to sustain the ups and work hard to overcome the downs. Nonetheless, sometimes it can get very exhausting and stressful. If you find yourself struggling in a similar situation, instead of giving all of you to improve the situation, try taking a break.

You can go on a trip, or maybe stay inside all day long reading books. How you want to take a break is entirely your choice. But one sure thing is that taking a break once in a while helps the mind and body relax and rejuvenate. It’ll also help you look at things from another perspective, thus helping resolve the issue that’s been bothering you.

Rule No. 6: Do Something That Makes You Happy

As compared to the other rules, it is a more fun rule that you should follow. Every day, take some time out of your hectic schedule to do something that makes you happy. It could be painting something, cooking for family, cuddling your pet, or reading a book. The options could be endless.

It’ll help in reducing stress, uplifting mood, elevating productivity, overall improving your mental wellbeing.

Note: This doesn’t mean you should drink or smoke as it’ll make you happy. Look for more healthy options instead.

Rule No. 7: Spend Time With The People You Love

Last but not least, you should spend some time with your family and friends. It’ll help in strengthening your relationship and will also offer a sense of belongingness. Moreover, it’ll help improve brain, heart, immune and hormonal health.

You can invite them over to your place and plan out a party, or go visit them. Just play some games and have fun. Or, if you are feeling a bit lazy, you all can just sit back and talk about whatever, your childhood memories, work struggles, or maybe a horror story. Spending time with the people you love will make you feel loved and give you whole new energy.

To sum it all up!

If you start following all these rules, all the negativity will get removed. That means you can enjoy a better and happier life. Remember that to live a healthy life is like a marathon; it is essential that you stick with these practices to avail yourself the maximum benefits.
