Dealing with Menopause is No More Difficult. Here’s How!

26/05/2021

“A woman must wait for her ovaries to die before she can get her rightful personality back. Post-menstrual is the same as pre-menstrual; I am once again what I was before the age of twelve: a female human being who knows that a month has thirty days, not twenty-five, and who can spend every one of them free of the shackles of that defect of body and mind known as femininity.”

– Florence King

Many global reports reveal the fact that there are more than 25 million women who go through the menopause stage every year. This phase seems to be a roller coaster ride for many women due to a heavy wave of mixed emotions and anxiety.

Further, NCBI claims that with the future aging processes in the forthcoming decades, more than 1.2 billion women are expected to experience menopause by the end of 2030. This makes it a total of at least 5% of women experiencing menopause globally.

Menopause – A natural process with multiple phases

Menopause starts at the age of 40s or early 50s in every woman, lasting for a few years. During the menopause phase, it’s common for women to experience night sweats, suffocation, anxiety, hot flashes, tiredness, severe mood swings, and consistent irritation. In some worsening cases, menopause often ends up in different diseases, including – heart disease, osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. All such health issues can make it difficult for women to cope with the changes that occurred.

If you are approaching or already reached the menopause stage, here is something to consider.

Tip 1 – Go for Vitamin D and Calcium Rich Foods

Sudden hormonal changes end up in weakening bones and increased risk of osteoporosis. Vitamin D and calcium are associated with healthy bones while intensifying the nutrient values making your diet highly beneficial.

Furthermore, according to PubMed Central, a sufficient vitamin D intake during the postmenopause stage is related to a lower risk of hip fracture. This is the reason why practitioners recommend going for quality menopause products available in the market. These products work amazingly well to stabilize body reactions. As far as calcium intake is concerned, rely on dairy products, spinach, tofu, and beans the most.

Tip 2 – Make vegetables and fruits your new diet buddy

Consume a fruit-enriched diet to soothe menopause symptoms to a considerable extent. Fresh fruits and vegetables contain low calories, ensuring good heart health and making the menopause journey healthier and easier.

Tip 3 – Maintain your weight

Consistent weight gain is typical during menopause. This happens due to an uneven balance of hormonal changes, genetics, aging, and lifestyle changes. Therefore, it is essential to keep a hawk’s eye on the increasing weight and find ways to lose weight healthily.

Take home message –

Many people hearing of menopause often relate it to a health issue. But that’s a significant misconception. The indisputable fact is that it is a natural process that hits every woman at a certain age. However, the concentration of symptoms may vary, but one can prevent all of them with some easy lifestyle changes.
