Regular Home Hygiene Tasks That Should Keep You Healthy

04/03/2021

When it comes to health and hygiene, the place where you live plays a vital role. As the old saying goes, health begins at home, you need to take care of your home first if you wish to stay healthy.

In this article, we will be giving you some tips on the same. And would also be helping you understand the benefits these tasks can bring along.

Note: Before we begin, it is necessary to know that none of these tasks is something that you don’t already follow. What we intend to deliver through this article is only the methodology to use for proper cleaning and care.

Floor Cleaning With Disinfectants

Well, you must already be cleaning and scrubbing the floors regularly. So much, on a daily basis too. However, what you might not know is the regular detergent is not as effective, in removing harmful bacteria and germs from the floors, as they are advertised.

According to WHO’s guidelines, alcohol-based disinfectants are more effective in killing bacteria and viruses. And the guidelines come especially in light of the recent pandemic.

So, what you can do is use these disinfectants to clean the floors. And you need to do it daily.

Kitchen Degreasing And Scrubbing

Unlike floors, the kitchen area is far worse infested with harmful pathogens, bacteria, and viruses. Wiping with wet linen can surely make it look less greasy, but know this- the residues left behind can still feed bacteria and other pathogens.

Instead of using wet wipes, it is better to use a soft brush and mild detergent to clean kitchen shelves and tiles. According to the experts at Elite Home Cleaners, the detergent breaks down grease and brush removes it from the surface. And in the process, the colonies breeding on these residues are also removed.

Further to degreasing, you can still use a disinfectant spray to ensure the utmost hygiene.

Bathroom And Facility Care

This one is a no-brainer, your bathroom is one of the biggest breeding grounds for disease-causing germs. Reports suggest that nearly 33% of common sickness is acquired from unhygienic bathrooms and facilities.

You need to clean taps, showers, bathtubs, and all other fixtures in your bathroom, thoroughly. Don’t forget the potty pot, since it is the most infested fixture in your bathroom.

You can use home-based alcoholic solutions like vinegar to clean your bathroom. Also, you need to make sure that your bathroom remains dry at all times. A humid atmosphere is an open invitation to germs and insects.

Doorknobs, Taps, And Common Fixtures

In light of the recent pandemic, the importance of disinfecting cannot be hard-pressed anymore. Healthcare experts suggest you disinfect the commonly touched areas in your home to prevent the spread of Covid.

Fixtures like doorknobs, taps, showerheads, curtains, table-tops, and so on are usually the most contacted items in your house. And likewise, they are also responsible for spreading germs.

You can find special disinfecting solutions for such soft surfaces. Specialized cleaning agents would ensure that the germs are removed, while the surface is also not damaged.

To sum it up, a thorough cleaning is what can help you stay healthy during these tough times. So, step ahead and take your hygiene concerns more seriously. Stay healthy and stay safe.
