2020 has been a long and difficult year for many of us. The vast majority of us are looking forward to wrapping it up and welcoming 2021. The coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic has wrought all sorts of changes to our day to day lives – and some of these changes aren’t looking likely to revert to their old ways anytime soon – so what can we do to accommodate ourselves to them? Taking a positive approach and adapting to change could be the best way to get by right now. For now, let’s focus on how many of us are spending a whole lot more time in our own homes than usual. Governments around the world are recommending that we spend as much time at home as possible in order to reduce and slow the spread of the virus. Many of us are working from home. Many of us are living in places where non-essential activities and venues outside of our homes are closed. So, you may as well make your home nice and comfortable! Here are a few steps you can take to achieve this in the new year!

Deep Clean

The first step you might want to take is giving your home a deep clean. Sure, we all do our usual chores on a day to day basis. But you’d be surprised just how much dirt builds up in unexpected areas of you home. A good deep clean can make your property feel brand new again! Start our by decluttering. Remove any unnecessary and unsentimental items from your home. Recycle them. Sell them. Donate them to charity. Then, onto the chores. Rather than just vacuuming, use a carpet cleaner. Wipe down the skirting boards. Clean the windows properly. There are countless tasks you can undertake that will make all the difference!

Invest in New Furniture and Accessories

Sure, a deep clean will improve the look and feel of your home as it is. But if you want some real change to take away from the fact we’re looking at the same four walls every day, you may want to consider investing in some new furniture and accessories. These will give your living space a completely brand new feel and will shake things up a bit. Of course, there are countless styles and aesthetics you can go for. Whatever you choose, just make sure to shop wiith reliable suppliers and stores like www.frenchknot.com.au. This way, you can guarantee quality first time round!

Redecorate

If you have more time on your hands and want to see significant change in your home, you may even want to redecorate! Invest in furniture and floor covers, some trays, rollers, brushes and paint and you’re good to go! Be careful and don’t rush. It’s also advised that you test the paint before doing the whole room. Sometimes it can dry a different colour to how it looks in the pot.

These steps are all relatively simple and straightforward. But they can make all the difference when it comes to sprucing up your home and adding a new lease of life to your living space!
