5 Essential Style Tips for New Moms

06/01/2020

As a new mom, it’s only natural that most of your time will be taken up providing love and care for your newborn. With a whole new set of roles and responsibilities to take on, the last thing on your mind may be looking stylish and chic, however, with many new moms feeling unhappy with their post-baby body, there are tons of useful style tips that you can take on board which are said to boost confidence and self-esteem. To put a spring in your step, here are five essential style tips for new moms.

Invest in Sneakers

There’s no point beating around the bush, parenthood can be incredibly stressful at times. With so many chores, errands, and tasks expected of you, your feet will go through a lot, so it’s important that you invest in a pair of shoes that can support your feet and provide maximum comfort. If you’re after a pair of durable designer shoes, you may like to check out SSENSE who sells a range of designer brands, accessories, clothing, and bags. Whether you’re a fan of Gucci shoes or Fendi is more to your taste, there a wide variety of options to pick from on their website. The last thing you want is to get blisters, so investing in a good pair of shoes is the way forward.

Choose Dark Denim

It’s best to stick to a pair of jeans that flatter your body type. If you can’t fit into your skinnies at the moment, there’s no shame in picking a boot cut, especially if you are pear-shaped. You may want to invest in jeans that have Lycra attached, as they will hold their shape better over time, meaning if your weight fluctuates, they will still fit you perfectly.

Carry a Cute Bag

When out and about with your newborn, there are all sorts of baby gear that you will need to bring along with you, therefore, finding the perfect bag to store all the essentials, while showing off your style and personality is key. Try and stick to modern styles and patterns that you love, as well as a color scheme that matches your coat.

Go Fitted

While you may think that wearing a baggy t-shirt will be great for hiding your bumps and lumps, they are actually adding on extra pounds! Instead, select a top that complements your new mom figure. No one is saying it needs to be form-fitting, however, finding tops that define your curves and enhance your figure is ideal.

Rock Some Layers

With winter in full swing, it’s important that you feel cozy and comfortable when you’re running errands. To add an extra level of style to your outfit, why not opt for more layers? As a new mom, you may not feel confident wearing skintight clothing at first, so whether it’s by wearing a vest underneath your outfit, or wearing a cute jumper, keeping yourself warm is important.

While it’s only normal that your baby will be your number one priority, it’s just as important that you look after your own physical and mental wellbeing. To help boost your confidence, taking any of the style tips listed into account can help you feel better about your post-baby body and help you think more positively.
