How to Feel Your Absolute Best

18/12/2018

It’s easy to get into the habit of thinking that our happiness comes from external sources, but actually, this isn’t true. Happiness comes from within! We can’t get all we need to be at our thriving best from other people and things: we have to give them to ourselves. The good news is that how to feel our best isn’t all that much of a mystery. It’s actually pretty simple; all we need is a little bit of time to get them into our lives. If you’ve vowed to make 2019 the year when you’re feeling your radiant best, then take a read below, and incorporate the tips into your lifestyle.

Stretch it Out

We’re told that we should be strapping on our running shoes and heading into the outdoors, or signing up for a gym membership. And perhaps we should be. But there’s something that’s almost just as effective, in terms of making us feel energetic and ready to tackle the day: stretching! It’s a vastly underrated tool for anyone over the age of twenty-five. Most of us stay in one position for too many hours each day in the office – stretching just helps you to get back to how you’re supposed to feel. You can follow along with a YouTube tutorial, or go into the deep end by signing up for yoga classes.

In the Outdoors

You would never guess it just by looking at how we all live, but we’re not supposed to spend so much of our time indoors. Some people drive to work, drive home, and then sit in front of a television screen until they go to bed. They spend virtually no time outside, and even less in natural spaces. But the science is pretty clear on this front: nature is good for you. Go for a walk and you’ll be improving your health and your mood, too.

Life in HD

We’re not here indefinitely. There’s a short period of time we get to enjoy all the wonders of the planet. So why experience it any less than in all its glory? It’s like watching standard definition TV when HD is available: it makes no sense. All your senses should be in tip-top condition, but the two most important ones are your sight and sense of smell (which includes taste). If your eyes aren’t as effective as they should be, look at getting a pair of stylish specs from Glasses 2 You. If your taste buds aren’t what they are, then look at giving up some vices – smoking, for instance, can greatly impair your sense of smell. Both these things will allow you to fully appreciate all that the world has to offer.

Calm the Mind

Finally, don’t forget the mind! We live in chaotic times, and it’s easy for our mind to get the better of us from time to time. If you haven’t yet given meditation a try, then begin now. Science has a lot of respect for the practice, which, for whatever reason, puts a distance between us and the negative aspects of our mind.
