Bedroom makeover ideas you can do in a weekend

25/05/2018

Does your bedroom look even more exhausted then you feel? If your bedroom leaves you feeling underwhelmed and you don’t really wish to spend any more time in it then necessary then now might be the time to consider a bedroom makeover.

Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to orchestrate a bedroom makeover, depending on how much you want to spend and how much time and skill you have to offer, most of the ideas below can be done within a weekend. Creating you a gorgeous new bedroom space for you to enjoy for the weeks and months ahead.

Let’s get started!

Your lighting

There’s a difference between low lighting and gloomy lighting and you’ll want the former for your bedroom. Now is the time to get rid of all those old, dusty lampshades and get some light in your life. If you want to save money and help the environment while you do so, then you can save money with LED lighting from LED Hut. You can create any mood you wish with your new lighting fixtures –try a fun and bright look with a large overhead light fixture or a more seductive and tranquil mood with some bedside lighting instead.

Go a step further and you can install some dimmer switches – perfect for setting the mood or reading a good book. Whichever you prefer!

Your bedding

How old is that duvet set? It’s amazing what a brand new duvet and pillow cover set can do for a tired old bedroom. If you want to inject a bright, breezy feel to your room then go for something light and colourful that’ll make you feel fresh and add a splash of colour to the room – cotton is your best friend here! Or if luxury or romance is more what you had in mind then go for something a little more subdued. Deep reds or creamy coffee colours that ooze class and indulgence – think silk sheets and soft linens.

And don’t forget to add an accent pillow or two. They’re a great way to add a fun pop of colour and a sense of comfort as well as style.

Bring the outside in

Did you know that plants have a strong powerful effect on our mood and stress levels? So why not bring some into the bedroom? Plants not only look beautiful and add a touch of glamour, but they also purify the air and bring oxygen into the room. Your room will look and feel so fresh! Think big, green leafy plants – head to your local plant nursery if you’re unsure.

The clear out

Possibly the most difficult idea on the list. If you’re on a tight budget then simply clearing out the clutter from your room will make a huge difference. Empty your closet and get rid of all those old outfits, clear up the mess on the bedside table and dust the tv and your bedroom mirror. For a quick and instant change, why not move the furniture around?
