While we may love the sun, there comes a time where it may all get too much and your home will overheat. You will want to avoid this because it won’t make the area that pleasant anymore as you’ll just feel too hot and even claustrophobic. There is nothing nice about this, it can stop you from having a proper night’s sleep and this will cause you a lot of stress as you’ll just feel exhausted.

Open the windows
Sometimes you may find that it is so hot outside that opening a window only increases the heat, but this may be because you’ve only opened one, when it actually needs to be a through and through set up. For example, if your living room is connected to the dining room, open the windows on either end, as by doing this will create a circulation of air flow through the room, working as if it were a fan. That means you have no static heat building up because it will be constantly moving through the house instead.
Create some shade
You may not have anything on your windows other than curtains, and these tend to be bulky and thick which will only add more heat to the room. One way of being able to control how much light you allow in, and how much you shut out in order to create a cooler room, is to install some shutters. Swap your sheets
You should regularly change the sheets on your bed anyway in order to keep it clean and fresh, but it also keeps things cooler in your bedroom. Cotton is the best bet because it’s able to breathe and allow air to pass through it, which is what you’ll need at night time so you don’t overheat and spend your downtime as an uncomfortable hot mess.
Enjoy barbecuing
Of course, what better time to start throwing things on the grill than when the weather is hot and the sun is shining? Plus the food just tastes oh so good. But there’s another reason for doing all of this, and that’s down to removing any unnecessary build-up of heat within your home. When using the oven, for example, it lets off hot air, and that’s just an extra addition that you could do without, so opt for moving things outside. It’s also a healthier alternative too because you aren’t using fat to cook with like oil and butter – because a barbecue doesn’t need it.
