Mums need pampering too! 5 ways to treat yourself

23/03/2018

With hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be difficult to hear yourself think, let alone find time to treat and pamper yourself. Whether you’re chasing after the kids, the dog or your partner or you’re doing everything in-between your 9-5, as parents, we find that putting the needs of our dependents first simply becomes a way of life. But did you know that a treat can go beyond being able to enjoy a hot cup of tea? So, while they’re sleeping, sit back, relax and enjoy these treats and pamper ideas – you deserve it!

Head to the dentist

No, I don’t mean getting a filling or a crown – although if you want more information about crowns, check out this dental crowns page – no, I’m talking about getting your teeth whitened! It’s the ultimate in affordable cosmetic dentistry, and not only will get erase all those years of coffee, tea and red wine, you’ll look and feel a million dollars and have a smile to die for! It won’t matter if you head out on the school run without slapping on some makeup first. A fresh white smile will give you all the confidence you’ll ever need!

Head to your local spa

The ultimate in indulgence. Here is the perfect place to relax and relieve all your aches and pains. Eradicate your aching back with a deep tissue massage or wake up your tired eyes and skin with a cleansing facial. Or go one step further and try a chocolate body wrap! It may only be for a few hours, but you’ll feel rejuvenated and ready to take on anything the kids will throw at you.

If you’re on a budget, then get someone to have the kids and have your own spa experience at home. Buy a couple of face masks or body scrubs – better yet, make your own! Never underestimate the power of a hot bubble bath, low lighting and some uplifting music.

Call a professional

Ever thought about getting your makeup done by a professional? Why not? It’s the perfect way to treat yourself and you’ll look incredible for the afternoon school run! Not only that, but you’ll pick up some handy tips and ideas of how to recreate your new look. It’s not just a treat, it’s an investment!

Food

Head to that new bakery that’s opened, or an old restaurant you have fond memories of. Order your favourite dish from the menu and eat the whole thing. Order dessert too! There’s a time and place to worry about calories and your treat day isn’t it!

Something new

Buying something new instantly gives us a lift. But as you’re treating yourself, it doesn’t have to be a new pack of dish sponges! It could be a new set of lingerie, that pair of boots you’ve been lusting after for months, a new piece of furniture, that gorgeous handbag you see every time you go shopping or even a new book. Do whatever makes you feel good!
