Earn Extra Income During The School Breaks

20/10/2017

Having a career that fits around the kids school term is the perfect solution to the age old “who will work and who will stay at home” argument, or something that can be a vital part of life for anyone bringing up children on their own. If you work in education then the paid break is great – however if you work in a role that means you need to lose out on income to benefit from this time off then it can be detrimental to your financial situation. Luckily there are now many different ways to earn income from home during the school breaks without having to be unavailable from 9am to 5pm and here are just a few of them.

Online trading

Online trading may sound intimidating to most people but it doesn’t have to be, a huge variety of people have been giving it a go and they’re loving it ! Trading has come on a long way in recent years and websites like CMC Markets make the entire process simple enough for anyone to understand. You don’t need any previous experience, you can do it via an app on your phone and you can practice without using real money.

There are various instruments to invest in such as stocks and shares, CFD’s and Oeic’s and Unit Trusts (don’t worry if these all sound foreign to you). Once you’ve learnt the basics and if you’re enjoying it you can go more in depth to each individual investment and monitor performance before you actually deposit money into your account. There’s a huge amount of flexibility with this option and definitely worth further research.

Turning your hand to writing

A lot of people don’t realise that they don’t have to have a qualification to pick up some freelance work as a writer. As long as you have a good grasp of the English language and you’re willing to practice and complete customer revisions then you’ll be able to pick up work online that can generate some extra cash whenever you need. Websites like Textbroker and GreatContent allow people to sign up for an account and then select the articles they would like to write. When you initially sign up you’ll be given a test article and the team behind the website will then give you a rating. Once this has been completed you’ll be able to select and complete articles that are the rating you have been given. Although you can’t expect to become a millionaire from this, if you can put in a few hours a week then you can generate a fairly lucrative income.

Get paid to click or complete surveys

Although it may seem a bit monotonous, there are many websites like Swagbucks that will pay you to click or complete surveys. They offer many different online tasks for registered users to complete including surveys, watching videos and completing surveys using specific sites instead of Google. Another great benefit to websites like Swagbucks is that you get bonuses for referring other users which can sometimes be up to £15. It may seem like you won’t be able to earn a huge amount of money on websites like this but if you have the time to dedicate a few hours a week and you allow the monetary compensation to build up then it can be quite a good way to save up for an event or a holiday like Christmas. Most of these type of websites will either pay you in vouchers for large online shops like Amazon or with cash directly to your Paypal account. If you do not have a Paypal account some of the websites will let you get your cash paid by check. Although this is not a substantial income if you were to use it with another couple of methods for earning money online then you will definitely be able to see a cash boost in your monthly income.
