Fashionable, Not Fussy – How Busy Moms Look Good

25/08/2017

When you have a family, your priorities are going to flip upside down in a moment. That’s not a secret to most women. However, one of the changes that many actually find it quite hard to make is that they’re not often going to have the time to dedicate to their wardrobe and their aesthetic as they can. Some days, you are definitely going to have that freedom to stay looking like the yummy mummy you are. But one those days when you find about two minutes of free time, you can still look great. You just have to know how to work with what you got and start filling the wardrobe so that what you got is easier to work with.

Throw away half the morning routine

It might be that there are some readers already gasping at reading that header alone. But the truth is that you already don’t need all the steps in your morning routine that you already have. In fact, the deep washing and exfoliating that many women do in the morning actually does more harm than good, removing all the good natural oils that can stop spot breakouts. Instead, look at www.vogue.com.au for a much simpler, ten-minute morning routine that gives you all you need to start the day.

Keep your hair on

A lot of women feel like their confidence in their looks is rooted (forgive the pun) in their hair. But if you don’t have time to make it just right, it can feel all wrong. Instead of stressing about how to make it easier to get your hair ready for the start of the day, just go for a much more low-maintenance hairstyle, to begin with. If you’re bold enough, then consider going for a shorter style like a pixie cut or a classy, chic side-swept fringe. If you’re a woman who likes a little more expression in her hair, then textured styling can help you add that flash of colour and detail without getting too complex.

Stay simple

There are certain pieces of clothing known as your wardrobe staples. What constitutes a staple is going to change from place to place. Many consider a plain white tee, a pair of jeans, a few block colour scarves and the like to be their staples. In reality, it’s up to you. But staples are those items that just seem to fit about every situation and can immediately simplify and outfit. When you don’t have time to get dressed, you will find yourself relying on these more and more. Just because your look is simple doesn’t mean it has to be boring, however. Finding your signature accessory can make it much easier to immediately add a bit of recognizable style to your choices. Or you can instead use your staples to add layers to one more stylistic choice, keeping an outfit expressive without getting too complicated with it.

Embrace lazywear

Perhaps the single best trend that modern fashion adopters have brought with them is the full acceptance of casual, cosy wear. It’s not considered slovenly to step out with an outfit that contains a pair of pyjama bottoms, anymore. It’s chic, now. There are a lot of high-end stores offering much comfier clothes that are easier to put on, so you don’t have to spend an hour simply putting an outfit on. A simple pair of branded sneakers from places like www.theiconic.com.au is going to be much more convenient than having to choose between ten pairs of more serious shoes that aren’t as comfortable. Embrace a little laziness and think comfort over aesthetic every time.

Love dresses

Following in the footsteps of that point is the one item that every woman should feel more comfortable in wearing all year around. Simple, elegant, classy dresses are relatively easy to put on, contribute to 90% of an outfit by themselves, and look fantastic. The sad fact is that a lot of women don’t feel confident wearing them often. There are a few reasons behind that. First of all, when choosing dresses, it’s essential you learn and consider your body shape, not just your size, in finding a fit that looks great on you. But it’s also important to recognize that dresses aren’t just for summer and that you can find great ranges for all seasons if you look specifically for them.

There is a real crisis amongst mothers who feel like their standards for themselves and their self-confidence slips as the reality of having kids starts draining their time away. Hopefully, the points above can help put an end to that crisis and start feeling beautiful again.
