The Minions return to Specsavers

13/06/2017

Specsavers Minions Despicable Me 3

I know it won’t have escaped your attention that the Minions are back soon with Despicable Me 3, and the kids and I are so excited about going to see the new film when it comes out at the end of June. Specsavers are celebrating the release with adding four new frames to its exclusive Minions range.

Master C and I were invited along to the Specsavers store in St Albans to see the range when it launched on 31 May, and to choose some glasses for him from the range.

The frames in the range are priced at £64 each and are free for under 16s with an NHS optical voucher. The Despicable Me 3 frames all come with single-vision lenses, including a UV filter as standard. With the Specsavers’ kids get two free pairs offer children can also choose an additional free pair of frames.

Master C was thrilled to go in store and choose some new glasses. From the four new designs in the range he initially went for the pair with millions (almost!) of Minions on the arms of them. The more Minions the better as far as he is concerned. This pair have acetate arms and a metal frame.

He also went for this smart pair, with a acetate frame with stripes along the arms with some of our favourite Minions lined up against the background.

His prescription was already on file at Specsavers so once he’d chosen the frames he wanted they were able to measure him for them and check how they needed to be made up with his prescription in them.

A week later and we were back in store to collect him new glasses and check that they fitted correctly. Huge thanks has to be given here to Nicky in the St Albans store who was absolutely amazing with Master C in terms of getting him to try on his new glasses and cooperate with her when she needed him to, to check that they were all OK. He had us in peals of laughter as he tried to entertain everyone in store with his dramatics and face pulling in the mirror as he tried them on.

He’s turning into a little boy that is keen to pose for a photo although the Specsavers’ teams instructions to “pout for the camera” didn’t work too well. He obviously needs to work on his “selfie face” a bit more!

Disclaimer: We were given some glasses from the Despicable Me 3 range at Specsavers for the purposes of this review, along with a parcel of Minions goodies. All opinions remain my own.
