I’m pretty sure I’m not the only parent that is quite excited about the the new Despicable Me 3 film coming out this summer. The trailer seems to have been playing in the cinema for ages now, but you know the release must be approaching soon when you start seeing all the film merchandise in the shops. Little Miss C and Master C have been busy this last couple of weeks helping me review these Ravensuburger Despicable Me 3 Jigsaw puzzles.
Like many Ravensburger puzzles this Despicable Me 3 one contains four separate puzzles: one with 12 pieces, one with 16, one with 20 and one with 24 pieces. They’re all mixed together in the one box meaning that the first challenge for the kids is to separate the pieces into the different puzzles.
Now in the past it would have been LMC who took charge of these puzzles and completed all of them on her own, but for the first time Master C got a bit of a look in. In fact, he got a whole more than that and LMC actually delegated to him making the 12 piece puzzle that he was able to do without help this time around. Whilst his sister always took to jigsaw puzzles like a duck to water, they always seem to have taken Master C a little longer to grasp, but I’d noticed that over the last few months he’s really got the knack of them all of a sudden. Seeing as he’s a big Minions fan he was delighted to get to make a puzzle with them on all on his own.
It also really demonstrated how good these four in one puzzles are from Ravensburger when you have more than one child. Rather than just fighting over the one puzzle, they can instead work together to sort the pieces out and then have one or two puzzles each to complete side by side. For once this seemed to work really well with my two – and amazingly the need to don my blue UN Peacekeeper helmet was deferred by 20 minutes or so. Now that has to be a parenting win during half term!
If you want to buy this puzzle you can find it in many independent toy and game shops, various chain toy shops, or online here.
