Both Master C and Little Miss C have been huge fans of Kazoops since it appeared on CBeebies earlier this year. They love joining Monty and his pet pig Jimmy Jones on some epic imaginary adventures.
I was thrilled therefore to hear that the music from the series was released on 28th October as an album called Just Imagine – Volume 1′. Featuring 20 songs from the first series of Kazoops it is available digitally and you can either download the whole album or just individual tracks from it.
As soon as I started playing it on my laptop Master C started dancing around the living room and LMC’s face lit up as she shouted “it’s from Kazoops Mummy!”. So distinctive is the style of the music it was instantly recognisable to her and as it happened she did recognise some of the individual tracks from episodes of the programme that she remembered.
It may sound a tad daft, but the thing I liked about the music was that it wasn’t too bouncy, despite Master C’s insistence of bouncing around the room as soon as it came on! Some kids music can sound too happy sometimes and I was pleased that this isn’t the case with Kazoops.
When it comes to the individual tracks I think my favourite has to be The Waterhole Song. No idea why now really, but I found myself humming it in the shower just this morning – so definitely an ear worm!
The kids however are agreed that the Dino Saurus Games song is their favourite.
It’s funny how sometimes siblings can actually agree on something!
The Just Imagine album is available to stream or buy online from a variety of digital service providers – for example you can buy it on Amazon here.
