The MADS 2015

15/05/2015

Seven years. Yep, this month I will be celebrating the 7th anniversary of when I started writing Being Mrs C and boy what a lot has happened in those 7 years! We’ve moved house into a proper family home, I gave up my job in London and we’ve also started a family with the arrival of Little Miss C and Master C.

My motivation when I started this blog was to record and share the things in life which make me smile and that’s what I still aim to do today – although I admit that a few challenging times have snuck in too. I wanted to motivate myself to focus on those good things in life though and also not just spend my spare time sitting in front of the TV, but instead doing something, especially with my crafting.

Over the years I’ve found myself coming back to this blogging mantra and using it to almost re-ground myself every now and then. That’s especially been the case lately with my crafting.

Really though, I write this blog for me and it is always a pleasure to do so. Yes, over the years I have built up relationships with brands and the blog has helped open some doors that I would never have imagined even existed when I wrote my first blog post.

I was delighted therefore to hear that I have been nominated for The 2015 MADS. These are like the Baftas of the parent blogging world and to just know that one person likes Being Mrs C enough to actually nominate it is quite a big thrill. I’m not really expecting to get through to the finals or anything as glamorous as that, but at the same time it’s really nice to see my seven year oldest child getting a bit of recognition.

The MADS are still open for nominations until 20th May, so if you have a favourite parent blog that you would like to nominate in one of their categories then please click on the badge below and do so.

The way it works is that the blogs with the most nominations in each category (plus one selected by the judges) then go through to the final. So, yes you can still nominate me (probably in the Family Fun or Craft categories, or maybe even thrifty if you like all my charity shop stuff, if you would be so kind, and yes you can nominate the same blog in more than one category) but there are also thousands of other worthy blogs out there and I’d love to see some of my favourites there at the finals.

Thank you!
