I find it difficult sometimes ensuring that I still get one on one time with Little Miss C now that her brother’s here, and especially since he naps less. I know that she misses that attention, and I’ve realised that some of her bad behaviour can stem from not having that time with me. During the school holidays I’m making a real point of making sure that we do something special together on the days when Master C is in nursery. This week we were busy getting ready for our holiday and trying to sort out laundry and packing, so I asked LMC what she would like to do for lunch. Her choice was to go to Pizza Express again (making it twice in a week!) as she was desperate to have dough balls again!
It was nice having a bit of quality time together and also lovely to have time to talk to her about loads of different things. Taking the time to walk to the restaurant and back was also a lovely opportunity to talk further.
The rest of my time wasn’t all just packing and boring laundry though. I made a bit of extra time to nip along to our local branch of Aldi where I picked up this gorgeous vintage style bedding that was released that day. As someone said – Cath Kidston look, but with an Aldo price tag. I love the look – although the frilly bit in the middle of the pillowcase is a bit weird. Mr C hates it. I bought him a cheap case of beer to soften the blow. I think I may have needed to buy him more beer first!
The postman also brought a nice surprise in the form of the next Bostik Bloggers box from Craft Merrily. I’ve not had much time to look at it in depth, or decide what to make, but the fact that it contains fabric was enough to generate a squeal of excitement when I opened it! Watch this space for how I use it when I get back from holiday.
