Little Miss C has a bit of an obsession with travel right now. Mr C and I went to Paris recently and she also had a rather dragged out trip to Gatwick airport to pick her daddy up after he went to The Netherlands for a wedding recently. Add to that the fact that DorkySon (who she still talks about regularly) moved to Tasmania and one of her school friends is about to emigrate to Sydney you can possibly see where her wanderlust is coming from. At Easter one of her other school friends went on a long trip to South Africa, where he has family, and he came back with loads of photos of everything that he saw there. She’s constantly looking at the globe in our front room, asking me where places are and asking when she can go to another country.
We’d love to take her travelling we really would, but there are a few hurdles we need to get Master C over first, and there’s obviously the financial implications too. When I saw that Canvas Holidays were running a competition which might allow us to kick off her travel aspirations with a trip to EuroDisney I just had to enter. The prize is £500 of vouchers which can be used on a cross-channel ferry and a stay at one of their family-friendly campsites, of which one is very close to EuroDisney in France.
