January is very much the month when you try to watch what you eat and drink after all the excesses of Christmas. Well, it's supposed to be, but if you're like us the first half of the month was spent eating the incredible amount of chocolate that was left over after Christmas and this latter part was spent moaning about the lack of chocolate in the house once the Christmas supplies had run out!
I therefore had to raise a smile when the January blogger challenge arrived from TASSIMO. This month's package contained a pack of their Twinings Green Tea and Mint T DISCs and a reminder about the antioxidant properties of green tea and how it is recommended for cleansing and general good health. As I tucked into yet another selection box I'll be honest and say that detoxing was probably the last thing on my mind.
With my TASSIMO experiences so far I have to admit that I've not found it to all that great for normal tea – mainly because the water isn't quite as hot as when I make tea with water that's just come to the boil. TASSIMO tea always just seemed a bit too stewed to me. When I tried my first of these Green Tea and Mint T DISCs I was therefore pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Until now I've not found a green tea that I liked before, but this combination with mint was really nice and refreshing. It also seemed that making it in the TASSIMO with hot rather than boiling water works well and doesn't give you the stewed taste I've experienced before.
Now I'm nearing the end of the box that I was sent to try I'd actually go as far as saying that I've completely fallen in love with these T DISCs and I've actually swapped one of my daily normal cups of tea to green tea instead. I guess that means I might even be one step towards a detox. Possibly only a small step towards outweighing all of the festive chocolate though!
Disclaimer: I was sent a pack of Twinings Green Tea and Mint T DISCs as part of my role on the TASSIMO blogger network.
