Review: Everything’s Rosie – Now You See Me, Now You Don’t

20/08/2013

Little Miss C is a HUGE Everything's Rosie fan here and she was absolutely delighted when we were asked to review the latest DVD - Everything's Rosie: Now You See Me, Now You Don't. This DVD of Series 2 features 13 episodes in total giving it a total running time of nearly two and a half hours.

Rosie lives in a very brightly coloured playhouse with her best friend Raggles the rabbit. In a twist that my daughter loves the playhouse is up a tree and has a large helter skelter like slide to take Rosie down to ground level. I think Little Miss C might be a bit more enthusiastic about getting up in a morning if we had something similar at home!

In each 11 minute episode we join Rosie on one of her adventures which can range from having tea with her friends through to travelling to the moon. There's a great deal of excitement in everything she does and we find that each episode is exactly the right length to totally hold a three year old's attention perfectly.

As well as Raggles, Rosie also hangs around with a group of friends including a bird with magical powers (Bluebird), a giant jumper wearing bear (Big Bear) , a laughing tree (Oakley) and a little boy and girl (Will and Holly). The programme aims to teach children about the benefits of working together in a group and also about how different people within a team can have different strengths and weaknesses. It really is a lovely set up and I've definitely seen LMC picking up these messages from it.

If I had to find one weakness it has to be the theme music. Incredibly catchy and easy for little ones to sing along to, but very quickly becomes a complete ear worm!

Disclaimer: We were sent an Everything's Rosie: Now You See Me, Now You Don't DVD to review.
