It's rare that I look forward to a book as much as I did Little Men. It's also the case that I'm rarely as disappointed and frustrated with a book as I was with LIttle Men.
After reading, and thoroughly enjoying, Little Women and Good Wives I went to quite a bit of effort to track down copies of LIttle Men Jo's Boys and I'm not yet sure it was worth the effort.
Little Men is set at Plumfield, the school and home for boys that Jo has set up with her new husband, and follows many of the boys (and a couple of girls) that are in their care through various adventures, often with some moral message that comes out through each one. Whilst I found a few of these quite charming I'm afraid that by the end I was actually just feeling quite bored and wishing that things would hurry up. Maybe I was just a bit jaded with Louisa M Alcott, or maybe this is a weak link in the Little Women set?
Jo's Boys is the final book in the set and whilst it's on the "to be read" pile I have to admit that it's moving swiftly down the pile and I'l currently enjoying some much more lighthearted books first.

Hello .I to loved Little Women and have recently read THE LITTLE WOMEN LETTERS – cant remember the author but its was FAB.The story is set in the modern day with the discovery of a box of Letters for Jo’s great great granddaughter. I cant explain the story very well but i really enjoyed this book and felt that the letters where very much in the tone of the March sisters. I have been recommending this book to everyone .I just thought that you may also like it.
