It was a complete fluke that Mr C and I stumbled across the London Green Fair on Saturday, but I'm so glad that we did.
We were both in London for a rare day on our own to take part in the Bing Your Britain bloggers day (which I will expand on in a separate post as it was fantastic) and as part of the day our challenge was to take photographs around the city. After the initial briefing and workshop we instantly headed to the nearest bit of green space; Regent's Park. We thought we might find some interesting nature or wildlife there, but instead we happened upon loads of people and the London Green Fair.
We were concentrating somewhat on taking photos and sadly didn't have enough time to linger for longer, but I loved what I did manage to see. Some great music, lots of interesting food and drink, varied crafts, loads of recycling ideas and rows and rows of great information stalls. I know London is "just down the road" but hoe come we couldn't have something like this more local – or maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet!
As well as this being a free festival, one of the other things I really liked about it was just how family friendly it was. There were several stalls where I found myself thinking how much LMC would like this (especially animals from one of the city farms) and there were also loads of things for older children to do and get involved with. I've never really done the "festival thing" but picked up a little book all about family friendly festivals recently, and after this experience I'm seriously considering trying to convince Mr C that it's something we should do.

This looks great; might have to head down there today if I can pry myself away from just relaxing in our garden. Thanks for coming along yesterday, fantastic to meet you!
