Although we didn't get any snow, yesterday was a very grey day. Even by nine o'clock in the morning the skies still looked very heavy and made it see much earlier than it was. A day that needed to be spend inside the house.
A fresh batch of scone (from a tried and tested Delia recipe) enjoyed with a cup of tea and catching up with the BBC Cranford series (how did I miss this when it was originally on TV?). Lovely. It also gave me time to make great progress with a second bootee, this time to match the version 2 one that I completed earlier in the week.
The other thing I've been enjoying recently has been the Hairy Bikers' Mums Know Best
series that has been showing on the BBC. A great mix of recipes (sweet and savoury from around the world) and fun to watch. The book accompanying the series has certainly made it on to my Amazon wish list!
I’ve been enjoying the Mums Know Best programmes too. How many scones did you eat? I made cheese ones and ate three!
Gosh I seem to keep missing such lovely programmes!! Thanks for the reminder!
The scones look delicious……
Hope the second bootee works out well!

I only like scones fresh from the oven. Warm and with a good wedge of butter. I also like salt on mine…no idea where that started. (and I know it’s bad for me)
Fresh from the oven are definitely best – still warm so the butter melts on them! Occasionally raspberry jam as well – if the mood takes me.
Have to say Ive not tried salt though!
Thank you Teresa!
Second bootee going very well – and if I get cracking it may even be finished tonight!
A couple may have disappeared quite shortly after they came out of the oven – just to make sure they were good enough for Mr C of course! Dont tell anyone though. Shhh…
