A sock update

14/04/2009

After setting myself a bit of a challenge I thought I'd better give you a progress update.

Sock2

This is the status of sock number two, just one month after starting the pair, after a mad knitting weekend. I'm totally thrilled at how far I've managed to get!

The one thing that I'm not at all thrilled about is the blister that I now have on one finger as a result of my extreme knitting. I've never had a knitting related injury before and my finger hurts so much that I'm having to have a couple of days off knitting to recover.

Quiet sad.

Aaaah sock knitting. How can such a little project cause so much pain? I find that I’m always happy to knit the first sock, but coming back for the second sock is always a struggle. Your gelato colours are lovely.

But one of the big benefits of sock knitting over, say, a jumper, is that when you’ve finished you don’t have to sew them up!
At least this pair are progressing faster than the first pair did! I too love the colours, but was struggling to find a word to describe them. Gelato works quite well – thank you!

And I thought winding my first skein of yarn was challenging!
