Last night's dinner was a perfect meal for a cold winter evening – with a slight Mediterranean edge.
Italian-style beef stew is a recipe that we've used a few times before from another book that we have in the 101 range: 101 Meals for Two. As I really don't like them I leave out the olives, but the mix of beef, yellow pepper and rosemary combined with the feta that we sprinkle on top makes it irresistible. I served it last night with some simple mashed potato (sadly not made as expertly as 21st Century Housewife makes hers) but tasty all the same.
Sunday seems to be much brighter and warmer than this last week or so, so we're planning a wander around one of the parts of St Albans where we viewed a house yesterday. The question we've got to try and answer is whether or not we want to live there. Never an easy one!

My dad used to make the best mashed potatoes ever. His tip was to mash them initially with a potato masher, then add some cream and milk and really beat the mixture together with a fork (you have to give it some welly!) to make it light and fluffy (and funnily enough whiter). Perfect. Oh, and good luck with the house hunting.
