… and a fire to cuddle up in front of would be very delightful. I think I'm in the process of being struck down by some nasty bug this evening. Shopping in the driving rain this afternoon probably hasn't helped. Nor, burning the candle at both ends this last week. Oh, well…
Today's shopping trip means I've pretty much finished my Christmas shopping. Wrapping and card writing is still on the to do list though. I did manage to avoid all the charity shops today in a time saving measure. A couple of book related purchases did find their way into my shopping bag though. Firstly a fascinating book
covering the history of St Albans. I saw it when I was in Waterstones last week but managed to hold off. A local friend that we had inner with last night was singing its praises though so I couldn't help but buy a copy – I'm trying to think of it as local history education for myself and Mr C.

My second purchase was a sheet of this fantastic wrapping paper from Panda Cards in St Albans that Anjie recently tipped me off to on her blog. I've always loved the design of Penguin books and hence I'm planning to hang this on the wall above my desk (there's not enough space on that wall for shelves, but this is the next best thing!)
An early night with a hot orange squash, a god book and a warm duvet is in order I think. I'm currently loving The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
and am actually really looking forward to catching up with the fantastic letters it contains. Good night!
