Well there you go, the main part of Christmas is over and Mr C and I are safely back home.
The four days we spent up with my parents seemed to fly by without much time to sit still. We had our trip to the seaside, visit to see my Gran, and also a trip up to Wakefield where a clergy friend held a Christingle service on Christmas Eve.
Christmas day itself of course brought gifts. Photos will come as soon as I locate the camera, but of particular note were the fantastic binoculars and bird identification videos from my parents and the home made platter of edible gifts from my sister. A pair of speakers from Mr C also means that I can now sit at my desk and listen to music whilst working without having to rely on the tinny sound of my laptop speakers.
Boxing day was a trip back down south to Mr C's family and the gathering of 15 of us from across three generations. The usual Jenga game produced laughs and amazement at 94 year old Grandpa's steady hand.
Today is a day of clearing up and relaxing before an annual Christmas dinner tonight with old friends. A early evening drink with a friend who is over from the States is also something we're looking forward to. Somehow mince pie baking is going to have to be fit in so that people at tomorrow's WWA working party have something to enjoy. Looking at the weather forecast though it may be a hot drink that they'll more be in need of.
Monday will see both Mr C and myself back at work. How quickly the week off seems to have gone. Luckily we're only working two days next week, and we hoping that it should be quiet and be an opportunity to catch up on paperwork and report writing. Fingers crossed.
Now onto my next planned challenge of the day – how to rearrange my desk, study area, and other bits of sewing "clutter" so that I can fit my new speakers and also have enough space to possibly use my sewing machine as well. Hmmm – good job I like a challenge…
