NZ Stitches

15/10/2008

I had a bit of a sort of all my sewing and knitting things over the weekend and realised just how bad I am at actually finishing things. I have a whole pile of half finished projects and a single box full of not finished (or in some cases not even started) cross stitch projects.

We're swiftly running out of space in our little flat so I've vowed to finish a few projects before allowing myself to buy anything else, no matter how cheap it is. (Mr C's probably reading this and hoping that I'll do the same with books!)

Fern
Pukeko

The first projects to get finished were probably my most recent purchases – two small kits bought whilst on honeymoon in New Zealand earlier this year. The silver fern was finished in our campervan as we travelled around – the Pukeko on Sunday evening curled up on the sofa at home. Whilst neither is particularly involved as far as sewing goes, both remind me of the trip of a lifetime and I look forward to handing them above my desk to remind me of our travels together as husband and wife.

Oh I have several kits waiting for wetter, darker, SLOWER times.. I envy you I really do…I would LOVE to be doing some of the things you do now!
    Strange isn’t it…
Perhaps we could swap lives for a few days?

A swap sounds like a great idea as I’m in love with your garden so much! However, I’m not sure that you’d be quite so pleased with my tarmac parking space in return.
Seriously though, one thing about blogging is that it makes me realise all the small things in life that I enjoy. I stop and think about them more and write about them – before I just let things pass me by. Bit of a deep thought though for first thing in the morning but hey ho!
